Court Services Mission

To initiate programs, develop services, adapt processes, coordinate training, and obtain resources that allow the courts to pursue their core mission with confidence, determination, and innovation.

The Court Services Division is comprised of four units: Children & Family Services, Court Access Services, Problem Solving Courts, and Statewide Court Operations.  

Under the direction of the Court Services Division Director, the division provides support to the courts in the following:

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution programs
  • Developing and implementing special programs
  • Developing and implementing rules and procedures for the courts
  • Court Appointed Special Advocate Programs
  • Court Improvement Project - to improve the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and families in NM Children’s Court by developing innovative initiatives through court agency, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Judicial Performance Evaluations of Appellate, District and Metropolitan Court Judges
  • Jury and Witness Operations
  • Language Access, including certification of court interpreters
  • Problem Solving Courts (Drug Courts, DWI Drug Courts, Family Dependency Courts, and Mental Health Courts)
  • Safe Exchange and Supervised Visitation Programs
  • Staff support and research for various local, regional and statewide committees
  • Technical Assistance
  • Track and report to the courts on legislation that may affect judicial programs
  • Tribal-State Judicial Consortium
