Specialized Program for Juveniles

Early Intervention Education Improvement Opportunity (EIEIO)

EIEIO was piloted in 2014, and was originally called Grade Court. This program was based on the successful model in Farmington, New Mexico. While there was limited success, the staff felt that starting earlier in the schools could help prevent future issues.

The mission and vision of this program is to be a community resource to provide students, families and schools an opportunity to reach their goals and achieve their full potential. The program is based out of the 6th Judicial District Courthouse. Meetings with the family are scheduled at a minimum of once a month. However, the program coordinator interacts with the students throughout the week with the services provided.

The staff collaborates with the schools and other community resources. Tutoring services will be available in each of the participating schools on a rotation. We have a counseling component in the program to assist the students and their families in matters outside the academic realm.
